GETTING THERE
Travelling from India to Scotland is easy and hassle free. One can take flights from most metro cities in India to Edinburgh or Glasgow with two layovers in between.
The time taken is around 12 hours and the connectivity is excellent with more than 20 flights to Scotland.
VISAS FOR INDIANS
Citizens of India need to have a valid visa for United Kingdom. The visa application takes nearly 15 working days to be processed. One can apply for a visa through VFS Global.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
1. Two “marriage notice forms” or M-10 form,
2. Original Birth Certificates ,
3. Divorce Decree ( if applicable),
4.“Certificate of no impediment” (CONI),
5. Valid Passport, and
6. Visas
English Only: All documents must be in English so plan accordingly to allow enough time to get a certified translation along with your original documents. You could get in touch with your wedding planner who will help you get the M10 forms and also with other formalities.

Luckenbooth Brooch
A Scottish love token, often made of silver and sometimes engraved or encrusted with glass and crystals. The brooch was exchanged by a couple when they became engaged, symbolising their promise to marry. The brooch has two hearts intertwined with a crown on top.And a Sixpence in her Shoe…
“Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in her shoe...” A sixpence hidden in the bride’s shoe was meant to bring good luck and is a tradition that is still practiced today. In the Scottish borders, a sprig of heather in the bride’s bouquet also symbolized the same!Blackenings
A fun tradition that might still be enjoyed on a Scottish stag today is that of “Blackenings”! This involves the groom being captured by his friends, stripped of his shirt before being tied up and ‘blackened’ using ash, soot, treacle, flour and feathers!As if not bad enough, the groom is then subjected to further embarrassment and paraded around the town accompanied by his friends making as much noise as possible, to draw as much attention as possible to him!

SHIELDHILL CASTLE
